Award-winning, nationally recognized, public affairs group welcomes new Vice President, Senior Strategist and Digital Practice Lead
AUSTIN – The Mach 1 Group, an award-winning public affairs and strategic communications firm headquartered in Austin, has welcomed two new team members to the growing firm: Senior Strategist, Kim Cooper, and Digital Practice Lead, Jimmy Orr. Former Senior Strategist Mary Bell Love was recently promoted to Vice President of Communications.
“As our firm has continued to grow, we have been proud to find some of the best talent in the state and country to join our team,” said Founder and CEO, Katherine McLane. “We are thrilled about the projects we’re working on this year and look forward to what’s in store for us in the years to come.”
Senior Strategist Kim Cooper is a strategic campaign professional with experience in taking corporate, political, and nonprofit campaigns from conception to execution, building a record of proven results for local, state and national organizations. She recently relocated to Austin after serving as Director of Communications for a national company based out of Mississippi, her home state. Cooper was a member of Hill+Knowlton Strategies/Public Strategies Inc.’s Consulting Practice Group in the firm’s Austin office, where she developed and executed public affairs campaign strategies for major national and global brands. Cooper began her career working at the Texas Capitol.
Jimmy Orr is a pioneer in digital communications whose experience includes leading digital strategy for the White House, The Los Angeles Times, and for the most influential sports personalities in the country, including ESPN’s Woody Paige and Outkick’s Clay Travis. Orr’s focus has been on transforming traditional organizations into digital organizations and creating strategies to allow organizations and causes to better communicate. Orr’s daily “Ask the White House” program was the first interactive political program of its kind, allowing citizens across the U.S. to interact with administration officials.
Vice President of Communications, Mary Bell Love has more than a decade of combined experience in mass communication and managing messaging strategies for public affairs, nonprofits, and political clients. Before joining The Mach 1 Group two years ago, Love spent several years working for the chairman of the Texas Railroad Commission, where she directed all statewide media relations and public-facing communication, from speechwriting to stakeholder interface and event coordination.
