The Mach 1 Group Expands to Welcome New Vice President, Senior Strategist and Account Executive
Award-winning, Austin-based crisis communications and public affairs firm continues successful third quarter
Austin, Texas – (Oct. 4, 2021) – Award-winning crisis communications and public affairs firm The Mach 1 Group (Mach 1) made three key personnel announcements today in the wake of national recognition for their work. The firm welcomes Senior Strategist Cristie Ingram Strake as well as Account Executive Andrea Fernández. In addition to the two new hires, Mach 1 has promoted Talan Tyminski to Vice President. These announcements reflect the firm’s impressive growth and tremendous success throughout the 87th Legislative Session.

Cristie Ingram Strake joins Mach 1 as a Senior Strategist with years of experience in state government. She has an extensive background in strategic communications, crisis management and social media messaging. Cristie’s expertise stems from the political and public sectors. Prior to joining Mach 1, she served as Communications Director for Texas State Senator Paul Bettencourt.
Andrea Fernandez, an innovative bilingual strategic communicator with content creation and digital communications abilities, joins Mach 1 as an Account Executive. Andrea is well versed in local government, having recently worked with Ground Game Texas and the National Organization of Women.
Former Senior Strategist Talan Tyminski was promoted to Vice President, where she will continue to craft communication strategies and deliver creative messaging for Mach 1 clients. Prior to joining the Mach 1 Team, Talan led the Texas Workforce Commission‘s Crisis Communications response to the COVID-19 pandemic.
