Women Around the World to Be Recognized During Virtual Event
[Austin, Texas] ā September 23, 2021 ā The Mach 1 Group (M1G) has been named the winner of two Silver StevieĀ® Awards at the 18 th annual Stevie Awards for Women in Business. M1G received top honors for Communications or PR Campaign of the Year ā Public Affairs and CEO Katherine McLane won for Female Entrepreneur of the year.
The Stevie Awards for Women in Business honor women executives, entrepreneurs, employees and the companies they runā worldwide. The Stevie Awards have been hailed as the worldās premier business awards. Winners will be celebrated during a virtual awards ceremony on Thursday, January 13, 2022. Registration for the ceremony is now on sale.
More than 1,500 entries were submitted this year for consideration in more than 100 categories, including Executive of the Year, Entrepreneur of the Year, Company of the Year, Startup of the Year, Women Helping Women, and Women Run Workplace of the Year. M1G won in the category for Communications or PR Campaign of the Year – Public Affairs and CEO Katherine McLane won in the category for Female Entrepreneur of the Year ā Consumer Products ā10 or Less Employees.
For its Communications and PR Campaign of the Year ā Public Affairs, the M1G was tasked with designing and managing a strategic public affairs campaign for Texasā leading medical marijuana and cannabis dispensary, Texas Original Compassionate Cultivation, before and during the 87th Texas Legislative Session with the goal to pass legislation that expands the Compassionate Use Program. M1G established a campaign schedule to identify immediate and long-term goals, push progress and ensure accountability.
The 87th Legislative Session was one of the most unique and challenging Sessions in Texas history. In total, with McLaneās leadership, Mach 1 assisted clients in dozens of public testimonies in front of House and Senate Committees, gained more than 200 Session-related media hits for clients and generated hundreds of thousands of dollars in publicity value.

Gold, Silver and Bronze Stevie Award winners were determined by the average scores of more than 160 business professionals around the world, working on eight juries.
