The Women of Mach 1, Beyond the Office

This International Women’s Day, we’re celebrating the women behind Mach 1 — not just for the work they do in the office, but for the impact they make far beyond it. While they’re powerhouse communicators and strategists by day, they’re also deeply engaged in their communities, bringing the same passion and leadership to the causes they care about. In this edition, we’re proud to spotlight the incredible women who make up our team and the many ways they lead, serve and make a difference every day — both inside and outside the office.

Mary Love
Partner & Chief Operating Officer

“Outside of Mach 1, supporting women’s initiatives is especially meaningful to me, and I’m proud to serve as an officer on the Board of Directors for the Pink Granite Foundation. I was also recently inducted into the Krewe of Iris in New Orleans for Mardi Gras, which was a fun and memorable experience. When I’m not working or volunteering, I enjoy spending time at our family ranch with my dogs, where I help care for and raise exotic animals.”

Talan Tyminski
Senior Vice President & Client Service Director

“Outside of Mach 1, I love traveling and exploring new cities and cultures whenever I get the chance; recent trips have taken me across several European capitals. I also serve on the alumni board for the University of Texas at Austin’s LBJ Women’s Campaign School, supporting its mission to prepare more women for leadership in politics and public service. When I’m not working, you’ll usually find me with a good book, learning to throw a proper punch at the boxing gym or spending time with my dogs.”

Shahreen Abedin
Managing Director

“At no other time in history has our country needed brave voices to drive us forward as much as it does now. That’s why I am honored to have served on the Board of Directors for Leadership Austin since 2023. This organization connects and develops leaders to courageously engage and transform our communities. I’ve formed truly meaningful relationships and had insightful learning experiences that motivate me to continually seek to make a positive impact, wherever I go.”

Alice Claiborne
Vice President & Director of Earned Media

“Outside of my Mach 1 life, I really enjoy spending time with my precious three kiddos. From being the snack mom at T-ball games and volunteering at my kids’ school, you will often find me with a kid or three. When my schedule allows, I do enjoy being active in the Texas Capitol Republican Women‘s club, where I was honored this past year to be nominated for 40under40!”

Sharon Chapman
Vice President

“Once a journalist, always a journalist in your heart. While I love my work at Mach 1, I’m happy I can keep a strong connection to the journalism world as a board member for the Society for Features Journalism. I am also obsessed with my sweet quirky dog Dottie and our outdoor adventures.”

Mollie Young
Senior Consultant

“Outside of Mach 1, I am working to inspire and empower girls as a Troop Leader with theGirl Scouts. This year alone, I have organized an aquarium overnight, World Thinking Day event, camp out, library tour and regular meetings 2x a month. I am proud to help the next generation learn life skills, leadership, community action and how to spread kindness.”

Carsyn Collins
Senior Strategist

“Outside of Mach 1, I’m proud to represent my hometown (and favorite baseball team) as a member of the Houston Astros Shooting Stars Dance Team for the 2026 season. Dancing for a pro sports team has always been a dream of mine, and it’s incredibly special to share that experience with fans in the city that raised me.”

Patti Kelly
Senior Strategist

“My experience with breast cancer in 2024 strengthened my commitment to supporting other women walking the same path. Through my involvement with Susan G. Komen, I’m proud to help raise awareness and resources that empower women with the support, research and care they deserve.”

Rachel Renier
Senior Strategist

“Outside of Mach 1, I love taking classes at local dance companies and studios like Ballet AustinDance Austin and East Side Performing Arts. It’s also a fun way to support the local arts community here in Austin. Last year, I was so lucky to perform with my Mach 1 colleague, Carsyn, in a contemporary dance piece.”

Madeleine Bell
Executive Operations Coordinator

“Three years ago, I decided to move myself and my children to San Miguel de Allende, Mexico, to allow them to experience a different way of life and gain a broader view of the world. Mexico is a beautiful country filled with amazing culture and traditions. We love supporting and giving back to the community that gives us so much. A few organizations we support include Patronato Pro Niños, a local charity that provides life-saving medical, dental, psychological and preventive health services in rural communities, and Feed the Hungry, an organization that fights child hunger and malnutrition in the surrounding area.”

Olivia Vegas
Account Executive

“Outside of Mach 1 and being a student at the University of Michigan, I volunteer as the wheelchair tennis fellow for the school’s Adaptive Sports and Fitness program. I love meeting all the incredible athletes and trying a different version of the sport I’ve loved my entire life. I’m incredibly proud to work with these dedicated individuals and help make sports more adaptive for everyone at Umich!””Outside of Mach 1 and being a student at the University of Michigan, I volunteer as the wheelchair tennis fellow for the school’s Adaptive Sports and Fitness program. Sophia Steintiz
Intern

“Outside of Mach 1 and being a student at the University of Texas, I am passionate about investing in the next generation through my church. I lead a college Bible study within my sorority and recently returned to my hometown to serve as a leader for my church’s weekend retreat. I’ve been deeply encouraged by the women who have poured into her faith and desires to do the same for others.”
